My Education and Career...
My college education began after my husband, Mark, and I started our family. When our girls were in late elementary school, I attended Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, North Carolina and received my Associate in Arts degree. It was a true family affair doing homework in the evenings. I then commuted two hours every day for two years to attend The University of North Carolina- Wilmington where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. I hold teaching certificates in North Carolina and Nebraska. To begin my career, I taught fourth grade in Montclair, Virginia while Mark attended the Marine Corps War College in Quantico, Virginia. We moved back to The Marine Corps Air Station in Jacksonville, North Carolina and I taught fourth grade for four years and fifth grade for one. Our move to Nebraska brought me to LeMay Elementary in Bellevue. This is my 10th year teaching fourth grade at LeMay - that makes a total of 15 years teaching! Every year gets better than the year before.
My family...

My husband, Mark, and I will celebrate our 31th wedding anniversary in April, 2013. Mark has retired from the Marine Corps after serving for 23 years. We have two beautiful daughters, Natalie and Nicole. Both girls are married and living in Missouri. We own a farm in central Missouri that is our "home away from home". We love to gather with family and friends at the farm to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Mark took me to Italy for my "trip of a life time." Our other family members are our dog, Trapper, Purcival the cat, and Meezer the troublemaker, I mean the kitten. When I am not at school or working on school related projects, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking and playing with our first grandchild, Luther.
